Greek Embassy to Reopen in Libya

In a visit to the Libyan capital, on the 6th of April 2021, the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, will be meeting with the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.

The Prime Minister is expected to seal the reopening of the Greek Embassy in Tripoli and recommencement of Greek-Libyan relations. The Greek Embassy has suspended its mission in the country since 31.07.2014.

Mitsotakis will travel to Tripoli on Tuesday “to normalize and restore relations,” said Greek government spokeswoman Aristotelia Peloni.

This is great news for our clients too, since now Libyan citizens will be able to manage their personal cases and authorise their Libyal documents through the Greek Consulate to make use of them in Greece. The Greek government has also announced the re-opening of the Greek Consulate in Benghazi soon.

Varnavas Law Firm 1978 welcomes the restoration of Greek-Libyan official bilateral relations and is ready to support any inquiries from Libyan citizens seeking legal support in Greece.
