Following the announcement made yesterday by the Greek government regarding the restriction of movement and transition throughout Greece and since you are currently in Greece I thought you might find it helpful to have all the necessary information to facilitate your movement for your everyday needs.
Directions to Citizens
Movements of citizens to serve their needs that cannot be otherwise met are permitted only for the following reasons:

  • Transfer to and from work during business hours.
  • Go to a pharmacy or visit a doctor if this is advisable after contact.
  • Moving to the supply store of essentials (supermarket, mini-market) where they cannot be shipped.
  • Transfer to the bank, since no electronic transaction is possible.
  • The movement to help people in need.
  • Transition to a ceremony (eg funeral, marriage, baptism) under the conditions provided by law or the transition of divorced parents or parents to the extent necessary to ensure the communication of parents and children, in accordance with the applicable provisions.
  • Exercise outdoors or moving with a pet, individually or per person, in the latter case keeping the necessary distance of 1.5 meters.

For moving to and from work during working hours, the movement certificate is fixed (type A) and is provided, under the sole responsibility of the signatory, by the employer or, in the case of a legal person by his legal representative or, in the case of a freelance professional. or self-employed, by himself.

For all other journeys, the movement certificate refers to each and every single movement (type B), is signed by the person concerned with his / her own responsibility and contains the name, date of birth, home address and time of departure of the citizen, as well as the specific reason for the move

Citizens must have their ID or passport along with a completed movement certificate (printed or handwritten) or a confirmation SMS at each movement to show it in case of a check.

How is the Certificate of Motion issued?

Fixed movement certificate (Type A)

The following form is required for a standard Certificate of Movement (Type A) to and from work: Date, time, signature

Individual movements (Type B)

For individual trips (type B), you have 3 options: SMS, printed and completed movement certificate form, or handwritten movement statement.

1. Send SMS

You can send SMS from your mobile to the number 13033 free of charge.

The SMS should be in the form:

  1. Go to a pharmacy or visit a doctor if this is advisable after contact.
  2. Moving to the supply store of essentials (supermarket, mini-market) if goods cannot be shipped.

  4. The movement to help people in need.
  5. Transition to a ceremony (eg funeral, marriage, baptism) under the conditions provided by law or the transition of divorced parents or parents to the extent necessary to ensure the communication of parents and children, in accordance with the applicable provisions.
  6. Exercise outdoors or moving with a pet, individually or with one more person, in the latter case keeping the necessary distance of 1.5 meters.

3. Handwritten Statement

The handwritten statement must have the following information:

  1. First name - Last name
  2. Address
  3. Reason for moving within the above-permitted categories and destination address
  4. Date, time, signature

Kindly note that in any outdoor transition you need to have with you:

  • your passport
  • a copy of the certified blue certificate you have received
