In the press release published today June 18, 2020, on the official site of The Ministry of Finance, has announced the extension of the deadline for submitting tax returns for individuals and legal entities until July 29, 2020, instead of June 30, 2020, as it was initially defined.
The extension was deemed necessary due to effects that the pandemic and the lockdown have imposed in the country and additionally in order to facilitate all citizens and businesses to file their tax return.
It is noted that the deadline for payment of the first instalment of income tax, which is July 31, 2020, is not altered or affected by this extension.
Furthermore, the Greek Government has announced other measures to facilitate individuals and legal entities regarding the payment of their tax liabilities. According to the above press release, It is reminded that:
-A 2% discount is provided for the lump sum payment of income tax for individuals.
-The payment of income tax for individuals will be made in 8 monthly instalments, instead of 3 two-month instalments, which was valid until today.
-The payment of income tax to legal entities will be made in 8 monthly instalments, instead of the 6 monthly instalments, as has been the case to date.
-The ENFIA payment will be made in 6 monthly instalments, instead of 5 monthly instalments, as has been the case to date.
