The first step of every property transaction in Greece is the submission of the relevant tax declaration before the signing of the contracts. From now on, this process can be concluded totally online.
The online "myProperty" platform for the submission of property transaction documents has already opened and its usage will be mandatory from June 1, 2021.
The process will be implemented in this manner: The notary drafts the tax declaration on behalf of the seller and the buyer and then upload it to their online "Taxisnet" accounts. Then, both parties must accept the declaration online. That will then be submitted automatically and the due tax amount will be declared.
The notary will next be notified by the system about the submission of the declaration, and the buyer will be able to pay the tax electronically, through their bank card.
The receipt of the payment shall be also uploaded on "myProperty", where the notary will likewise upload the contract at a later stage.
